LECTURESHIP (+grades to Reader) at Royal Holloway University of London

We invite applications for a position at Lecturer to Reader grade in the general field of isotope geochemistry. We are interested in outstanding candidates, educated to PhD level in Earth Science and/or Geochemistry, with a track record of collaborative research, publications in high impact journals and ability to generate external funding.

The field of research expertise is open but must be innovative and complement our existing strengths utilizing our modern suite of analytical facilities which include laser-ablation-ICP-MS, MC-ICP-MS and TIMS. The successful candidate will contribute to class and field based teaching or supervision at undergraduate, masters and postgraduate level.

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a team of staff in Keele University’s School of Geography, Geology and the Environment. Keele University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Geoscience, the post will be available from July 2017. Applications are welcome individuals committed to high quality teaching and research in Geoscience and who have interests that complement our research strengths in this area, while broadening the scope of our teaching expertise.

Candidates will be expected to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate programmes in Geology, Geoscience and MGeoscience as well as our MSc course in ‘Geoscience Research’. In addition, you will teach on other undergraduate and postgraduate degree pathways, as appropriate. The post-holder will also be expected to possess an excellent track record of innovative research, and will have the potential to develop and/or maintain internationally competitive research, underpinned by publications and grant success, that complements our existing research strengths in geoscience. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise that link to our research themes in Applied and Environmental Geophysics, Basin Dynamics and Petrology in order to strengthen existing expertise at Keele and contribute to the longer-term development of our research in one or more of these areas.
